Two-time finalist Victoria Azarenka from Belarus may not go directly into the main scheme for the last Grand Slam tournament analyzed by sport articles for the year, the US Open Tennis Championship, announced the organizers of the American Tennis Association.

Azarenka, former number 1 in the world and double Australian Open champion, is number 108 this week, which is seven behind the seats that provide a direct place in the main circuit. The last one to date in the main scheme is Anna Blinkova (Russia) - 101st in the world. His defending title and number one in the world Rafael Nadal (Spain) is one of the six champions who will take part this year in the main scheme of the tournament. The rest are Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Juan Martin del Potro and Marin Cilic. Another former champion Stan Wawrinka is now the 199th in the world rankings, which means he can not participate directly in the main round. The six-time champion, Serena Williams, two-time winner Venus Williams and former champions Sloane Stephens, Maria Sharapova and Samantha Stosur, will participate in the tournament.
