Nadal: I have to be 100% in order to survive against Raonic

The three-time champion Rafael Nadal reached ease to the quarterfinals of the tournament in Indian Wells, having he dealt with 6: 2, 6: 4 against Gilles Simon. Nadal served for the match at 5: 2 in the second set but allowed Simon to return the breakthrough and increased by less stay on the court of the world No3. However, that was not a problem for Rafa, who after just 78 minutes game, raised the hands in victory.

"Today, in my opinion, I played a solid match against a tough opponent like Simon. It is not easy to play against him from a tactical point of view. I think today I purely tactical made a positive match. Overall, I am satisfied. Throughout the game there were only two service games, in which I played poorly, "said Nadal.

Nadal reached the quarterfinals without a lost set, and now leads with 7: 1, he defeat in the direct duels with Simon. Since the beginning of the 2009 season, the world No3 has won 37 of 41 matches against players from France.

For the 28 years old Nadal it is the 9-th time from 11 appearances in which he reached the quarterfinals in Indian Wells. His next opponent will be Milos Raonic, who had no problems in the match against Tommy Robredo and won with 6:3, 6:2 for about an hour.

"He (Raonic) is a rival with whom you will not want like to play because all the time you`ll be under a tension. What happened twice with my serve today should not be happened against Raonic if I want to have a chance against him. So I expect a tough match. I know that I must be 100% in order to have a chance in the game. "

Interestingly is the fact, that in the last three years Raonich improved by one round his performance in Indian Wells. The Canadian eliminated in the third round in 2012 (lost to Federer) in 2013 reached the fourth round (lost from Tsonga) and last year game a quarter final, where he gave way to Dolgopolov.

"I feel better with every match. I serve well my retours fall deep into the court, which allows me to take a good position. With each passing minute on the court I feel better and better. This is a good signal, "said Raonic.
